Narrowboat Day and Picnic
Overview
Spend the day exploring the countryside around historic Skipton, on the seventeen mile lock-free pound of the Leeds and Liverpool Canal whilst enjoying the outstanding beauty of the varied wildlife.
The boats are 32ft diesel powered steel narrowboats, seating a maximum of ten people. They are equipped with a gas cooker, sink, hot and cold water, crockery & cutlery, fridge, flushing toilets and radio / CD player.
We will each get chance to a have go at driving for those that want to.
We will need team cooperation at bridges.
Included in this unforgettable day out will be our Spice Picnic – always impressive – Prosecco, strawberries, cheeses, cold meats, dips, chocolate – you get the idea! (eating utensils, plates, wine glasses etc will also be provided). This event is easily accessible by train and a great opportunity to leave the car at home.

Location & Itinerary
9.15am at Pennine Cruises on the canal side. Please arrive on time so we can set off promptly to make the most of our time on the water.
Pennine Cruisers is just by the canal (of course) in Skipton town centre.
The closest car park is the Coach Street car park, which is pay and display. There are toilet facilities in the car park. From here, just walk across the canal bridge then immediately right to the canal side path and Pennine Cruisers is just in front of you. At the time of writing, car parking is £6.60.
If you don't like to pay for parking, then there is plenty of roadside parking in Skipton, which is free and unlimited on Sundays. Water Street and Gargrave Road are both good for this, and from here you just walk through the car parks to the canal bridge. You can park on the setts on the High Street too if you prefer.
By public transport: The bus and railway stations are both less than half a mile away.
