Sunday Lunch at The Cunning Man Reading
Overview
The Cunning Man in Burghfield Bridge is a country pub & restaurant oozing rural charm and rustic character. Their picturesque surroundings provide the perfect backdrop for savouring the hearty, seasonal pub-food and the carefully nurtured cask ales and fine wines gracing their bar.
The pub's name comes from a local legend of a 'cunning man' - a good wizard who would help to protect people from dark spirits and witches. The original building was destroyed following repeated flooding; however, the newly re-built pub-restaurant has been impressively restored in its original style - complete with thatched roof.
Sunday lunch here is a real treat, and when we are done, we can take a walk along the Kennet and Avon Canal which runs beside the pub if you'd like.
