The Mount Without: Tower & History Tour
Overview
This experience is part of City Uncovered: Bristol, taking place from 18th–31st May – a limited-time series of unique, under-the-radar experiences designed to help you see the city differently.
What to expect:
You’ll meet your host, Michele Midwinter, at The Mount Without—a striking, deconsecrated church with over 900 years of history. The experience begins with an introduction to the building’s past, from its origins to its recent transformation and restoration.
As you explore the space, Michele will share insights into the challenges and stories behind bringing this historic site back to life, offering a rare behind-the-scenes perspective on its renovation.
You’ll then have the opportunity to step inside the 15th-century bell tower—an area not usually open to the public. As you climb, you’ll encounter the original bells still intact, before reaching the top where you’ll be rewarded with sweeping views across Bristol.
Expect a fascinating blend of history, architecture, and discovery, all set within one of the city’s most unique hidden spaces.
There are toilets and refreshments available. There are only 4 tickets per time slot, so you will have the personal attention of the host/ owner
