Sun Set Hot Air Balloon Flight
This once-in-a-lifetime experience has to be on many of your bucket lists! An unforgettable amazing aerial experience travelling above the clouds at sunset.
View the land and the sunset from a whole new vantage point as you drift peacefully across the sky with an amazing hot air balloon ride. Time stands still as you gentle float over the towns and villages reaching heights of up to 3,000 feet!
Your experiences starts with the cold inflation of the balloon, followed by a small briefing with your Pilot before you climb aboard the basket and your adventure begins.
Hot air balloons cannot be steered so instead we fly with the wind whilst the pilot keeps full control. The actual flight time is around 60 – 90 minutes before landing in a farmer’s field.
One of the beauties of ballooning is drifting with the wind – nobody knows where you will land until the pilot chooses a suitable place in which to bring you back to earth, making every single balloon flight is a unique adventure.
There is an opportunity to get involved in packing the balloon away (optional), which is great fun and part of the balloon flight experience. After the balloon has been packed away, you will be transported you back to the launch site by road.
Location: We are expecting the start point to be from Tissington but as the balloons cannot be steered, there is a possibility that it might need to be from a nearby venue. They operate from three locations in Derbyshire and closer to the time, your Pilot will choose the one that will enable us to avoid East Midlands Airport! We will notify you of any changes in due course.
Like all airborne events this one is very weather dependent so it is possible we may have to reschedule your flight and we will need to check with the flightline the day before the flight also. If weather stops the flight, a back up date for Tuesday 1st September meeting at 17:00 has already been set.

We are advised to allow 3 – 4 hours for the balloon flight experience, with 60 -90 minutes for the flight duration.
Passengers are always pleasantly surprised by how warm and comfortable the flight is. There’s no chill from the breeze, because the balloon is moving with the wind, and the basket hangs as if motionless in the sky! There’s no turbulence or other sensation of going up & down, in fact it’s a really serene experience.
It all adds up to a wonderful sensation of tranquillity, whilst being exciting at the same time.

Safety: Their pleasure flight balloons are classified as Public Transport Category aircraft, which means that they are granted a certificate of airworthiness by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) when manufactured. That certificate is renewed after every 100 hours of flight (or 12 months - whichever comes first), when the balloon is carefully inspected by a CAA licensed maintenance organisation.
