Afternoon tea with a twist - where the sandwiches are replaced with Sushi!
A culinary adventure to Japan, award-winning KIBOU Japanese restaurant and bar in Solihull is a feast for all the senses.
After enjoying an evening meal at this restaurant earlier in the year, we thought it would be nice to visit again, but try something a bit different! Expect afternoon tea, but with a Japanese twist, featuring sushi where the sandwiches would usually be!
The Japanese-inspired afternoon teas are served with a range of Japanese teas or infusions, or can be upgraded to include a variety of different drink packages. Drinks can include the more standard options such as earl grey and english breakfast tea or something a little different such as hojicha (roasted green tea – smoky & calming), or genmaicha (green tea with toasted brown rice – fresh, sweet and nutty).

A bit about Kibou in their words...
Situated on Solihull high street, we’re a beautifully transformed Grade II listed restaurant that oozes glamour and design aesthetics. Golden Japanese acers add a vibrant colour throughout our design, enhanced by bold frieze panel murals and projector animations depicting iconic Asian street scenes.
Grab a drink in the opulent, marble decked cocktail bar, watch our sushi maestros at work from the open sushi kitchen.
A bit about our fish…
We only work with fish suppliers who, like us, care about protecting the world’s fish and seafood stocks.
Where possible we source from sustainable small-scale fisheries with animal welfare at the heart of their business. Many practice Ikejime, a traditional Japanese method of harvesting fish in a more humane way. Our tuna is pole and line caught and our yellowtail comes from recognised sustainable suppliers in the Indian Ocean.

To secure your booking, please simply follow the link and pay the nominal admin fee to book.
Closer to the time we will email a link to a Google Form, so that we can pre-order your afternoon tea selection in advance. As soon as we have collated everyone's choices, we will update each booking with the actual price so that payment can be made in advance
The afternoon tea options range in price from £19 up to £38 which includes a Japanese alcoholic drink called sake.
At the time of writing, the options and prices are as follows:
Vegetarian Afternoon Tea - £19, or Classic Afternoon Tea - £23

Matcha afternoon tea includes a cup of hand whisked matcha tea - £6
Cocktail afternoon tea includes KIBOU’s signature cocktail - £11
Champagne afternoon tea includes a glass of Taittinger Brut Reserve - £13
Sake afternoon tea includes a cup of Junmai Tokubetsu sake - £15

Kibou is in centre of Solihull, and easily accessible by many public transport options.
Parking: There are several car parks throughout Solihull, including Touchwood which is a 4 minute walk away.
