Overview

The Bodyguard is back on tour, and is sure to be as fabulous as ever! I first saw it with one of my daughters and her friends in the west end and we all loved it.

The Bodyguard is a 2012 stage musical with a book by Alexander Dinelaris, based on the 1992 film The Bodyguard, with the score featuring songs recorded by Whitney Houston including "One Moment in Time", "I Wanna Dance with Somebody" and her pop version of Dolly Parton's "I Will Always Love You".

Starring international leading actor SIDONIE SMITH (Sister Act, Chicago, Jesus Christ Superstar) as Rachel Marron and MATT MILBURN (Coronation Street, Hollyoaks) as Sy Spector.

Former Secret Service agent turned bodyguard, Frank Farmer, is hired to protect superstar Rachel Marron from an unknown stalker. Each expects to be in charge – what they don't expect is to fall in love.

I've reserved 10 tickets, which I have to either pay for or release on 27th October, and I really hope you want to come along and enjoy this terrific show.Jan has kindly offered to host.

*The role of Rachel Marron will be played by Mireia Mambo at selected performances. Cast and performance schedule subject to change without notice.

The Bristol Hippodrome, the city’s very own West End theatre, opened its doors on 16 December 1912 when the curtain rose for the first time on what was generally agreed to be Oswald Stoll’s most magnificent provincial theatre.

It is a superb example of the grand architecture of the late Victorian era and is one of the masterpieces of design by Frank Matcham, the most eminent theatre architect of his time.

Towards the beginning of the century, the theatre staged a variety of acts as a Music Hall. Since then, and due to the fact that it has one of the largest theatre stages in Britain, The Bristol Hippodrome has established itself on the touring circuit for all major musical productions, thus becoming known as Bristol’s West End Theatre.
