Tower Tour at St Marys - Lichfield
Overview
You may have climbed the tower at Lichfield Cathedral and now we have the opportunity to climb the tower at St Marys Church.
The Tower Tour will take you up a narrow spiral staircase, and right up to through the centre of the Tower up to the Spire Viewing Platform with stunning views of Lichfield and the surrounding counties.
The tour starts in our Bell Ringing Room, and you will learn about the newly refurbished bells that are 300 years old in 2026 – so will have been heard by Samuel Johnson himself!
The tour then continues up to the viewing platform and you will learn a little about the history of St Mary’s and Lichfield on the way up.
Each of the four viewing windows has a panoramic drawing highlighting the key points of interest that can be seen along with a few fascinating facts from our guide.
