The Coventry Blitz Walking Tour
Overview
The intense bombing of Coventry on 14 November 1940, when more than 500 German bombers spent eleven hours bombarding the city in an operation codenamed Moonlight Sonata, was the first and most devastating air attack in history up to that point.
Two-thirds of the city was destroyed, including over 4,300 homes.
This afternoon we will join historian Adam Wood for a walking tour of sites associated with the Coventry Blitz as he relates the chain of events on that fateful night, and hear the personal stories of those who lost their homes, livelihoods - and sometimes their lives.
Please note that this is not a Spice exclusive event.
