Saturday Short Walk & optional lunch: Cutacre Country Park
Overview
Join us for a short walk in Cutacre Country Park, an urban green space created behind Logistics North Industrial Estate near Bolton, between Westhoughton and Atherton. Their website https://www.logisticsnorth.com/country-park/ says that it is 558 acres of open public access on foot or by bike. It contains ponds, wildlife, and some far views in good weather. There is no cafe, no toilets, no children's playground, no ice-cream van, it is just a pleasant walk where you feel like you are in the countryside.
We start from the small car park onto good gravel footpaths, although some may have muddy patches. Paths are mostly level. The walk will be about 1/12 hours and there are no toilets at the start or enroute.
Meet at 10.50am ready to set off at 11am
Optional Food: Why not join your host Anne afterwards for lunch at the nearby Toby Carvery at 1pm where they have a varied menu as well as a Roast Dinner for £12.79 (current pricing at time of publication)
Location & Itinerary
Grade 5: 3 to 4 miles which will be around 1 & 1/2 hours walking - please refer to the walk grading information within the website FAQs HERE which also gives you a list of recommended items to bring with you though please take into account that this is a shorter walk
There is no postcode for the car park, so we have used Toby Carvery's own postcode BL5 1BU.
Leave the M61 at J4 towards the A6. At the next roundabout turn right towards Westhoughton, one turning past Logistics North Industrial Park. On the A6, past Toby Carvery on the right, then look out for a small open car park in front of the Whistl warehouse on the left, it holds about 25 cars. There is a big wooden sign at the entrance but it is hard to see the writing! Anne's car is a pale blue Fiesta reg PG21
