Overview
The Chief requests that you begin your investigations in Bonn Square (OX1 1LQ). This square is on Queen Street, just opposite Westgate Shopping Centre. Park the squad car at Westgate Centre (OX1 1NT), Worcester Street (OX1 2BQ) or arrive undercover by using the Park and Ride. The train and bus stations are also nearby.
The Curious Case of the Pickled Professor! Oxford University is in a right pickle! Professor Gray Matter, one of its most revered and eccentric scholars, has met an untimely end. Known for his love of tweed suits and pickling everything from cucumbers to quantum theories, Professor Matter was found slumped in his lab - just days before unveiling his age-reversing discovery, rumoured to work faster than a facelift at a Botox convention! With foul play confirmed, Detective Chief Inspector Ellie Mentry and her team are on the case. The list of suspects is as long as a queue for free coffee at a philosophy lecture, and DCI Mentry needs your sleuthing skills to help crack this academic whodunnit. Sharpen your magnifying glasses, don your deerstalker hats, and prepare for a case more puzzling than the professor's pickled equations! We're counting on your top-notch investigative instincts, Detectives!
If there are enough of us we can make it a competition. Afterwards we can grab lunch, plenty of options, we can decide nearer the time. The trail is 2.3 miles long and they suggest it takes 2.5 hours

You'll be following in the famous footsteps of Inspector Morse and DI Lewis as you work this case around the streets, alleys, squares and colleges of Central Oxford. You'll encounter many cobbles along the way, so do wear some sturdy footwear or you'll get as grumpy as Morse himself... poor Lewis!
++ OUT ON PATROL ++ The Chief suggests you will be spoilt for choice when it comes to refreshment opportunities on this case. You'll be working around the centre of the city, so never too far from a place to pick up some vital provisions. Toilets can be found on Magdalen Street East between Clues 03 and 04 (women only) and on Market Street near clue 15
