Come live like Lordes and Ladyes, and enjoy a hearty feast fit for a king and queen! Our award-winning Mediaeval Banquet has been running for 40 years, and provides an entertaining and fun night out. Enjoy a four-course feast, an arrival drink of mead cocktail, beakers of wine and ale with your meal, a full stage show and a post-banquet disco.
The night is filled with bawdy fun, food and wine, colour and music. Miss it at your peril!!
The plot…
The year is 1539, and the quiet and calm of Coombe Abbey is about to be shattered forever. The Abbot and his Provost have thrown open the doors of the Abbey and have invited the local peasants to come for a meal – ‘A feast fit for a king!’ Enter the King’s Commissioners – and before the horrified eyes of the peasants they ransack the Abbey of it’s treasures and banish the Monks.
Your medieval banquet will include:

Marinated rib of swine
With sage, cider & honey
Vegetarian option: Butternut squash, spinach and stilton risotto with sage oil dressing
MY LORDE’S CHICKEN
Quarter roasted fowl, rolled in mace, tarragon & crushed black pepper
in a sharp lemon and mead sauce
Served with buttered sweetcorn cob, herby diced potato and rustic salad in a french dressing
Vegetarian option: Potato, cheese, onion & leek bake
Topped with a freshly ground parsley crumb

Apple & apricot crumble with elderflower cream

Yes the medieval banquet was amazing. Really good fun . Great food and drink and a fab party atmosphere .
Lovely evening in a beautiful place. Very atmospheric and good value for money. Food was very tasty and probably in keeping with how it would have been then. It was served promptly and everyone was served together.
Great night, of excellent entertainment and food. with everyone dressed in their costumes.
It was well organised and friendly with good car parking facilities, always welcome on a dark night when arriving alone.
