Free Open Session to try Kathak dancing
Overview
We saw the dancers in Reading at the Diwali parade and they are very keen that we should try it out. They have regular sessions (Katak; Bollywood; and Odissi) at The Vyne Community School in Basingstoke and Maiden Place Community Centre, and are offering free trial sessions to get us interested, who knows, it might turn out to be your new passion, and even if it isn't it could be a fun way to spend an hour on an autumnal Sunday
If you'd like to join me at the event in Reading, we can retire to the local pub afterwards (about 2 minutes walk) for some well earned refreshment.
You do need to register direct with the venue by emailing them at office@kalathearts.co.uk BEFORE 1st November, booking via Spice Social will only give you access to the forum to chat with others who plan to attend.

Our medium is the classical Indian dance of Odissi. Originating from the Bay of Bengal over two thousand years ago, Odissi deals with contemporary and classical themes that remain just as relevant in storytelling today. Its narratives are researched and presented to audiences as both movements and rasas, representing emotions of real life experiences such as love, devotion, anger and playfulness.
