Evening Walk: Timperley Old Hall & King George V Pool
Overview
A gentle walk through streets, on public footpaths & through a small amount of pasture in and around Timperley Village on the outskirts of Altrincham.
On our route we will take in the King George V Pool which is a small artificial lake which was constructed in 1910 - 1911 to celebrate the coronation of King George V. and was given as a gift to the people of Altrincham by Lord Stamford in memory of the reign of King George V.as well as Timperley Old Hall the former site of Timperley Hall a medieval moated hall dating back to before the 16th century though little records can be found of the original building.
Our route back to the car park passes the statue of Frank Sidebottom which commemorates the life of his creator Chris Sievy.

Thorley Lane Car Park is in the centre of Timperley Village and is a 3 hour maximum stay car park which should cover us for the duration of the walk provided nothing goes wrong! When you reach the cross roads in the village if approaching on Stockport Road from Brooklands roundabout turn left, if approaching on Stockport Road from Altrincham turn right and if approaching from Park Road from the A56 go straight on. The car park is on the left on Thorley Lane. The postcode provided is for the Larkhill Centre (Community Centre) which is just a little further on on the left.
