Real Ale Train Trail and Meal
Overview
Come and join us for a fun afternoon and early evening on the Real Ale Trail. Our itinerary will be as follows:
Meet by the front entrance of Huddersfield station at 11:00 for the 11:09 rail replacement bus to Marsden or meet at The Riverhead Brewery Tap on Peel Street in Marsden at 11:40.
Arrive Marsden 11:39 and depart at 12:57
Arrive Slaithwaite at 13:07 and depart at 14:07
Arrive Huddersfield at 14:27 and depart at 16:49 on a real train (allowing time to have a late lunch at The Head of Steam)
Arrive Dewsbury at 17:04 and depart at 18:09
Arrive Batley at 18:12 and depart at 19:12
Arrive Leeds 19:32 and go home or to the Head of Steam on Mill Hill
As people will be coming from various directions it will be best to buy your own train ticket. You can get an Adult WY DaySaver Train off peak day return for £9.10 (£4.55 concessions), or get an Adult WY DaySaver Bus and Train (off peak) for £10.10, which will also cover your bus fare home. Location & Itinerary
A table is booked at the Head of Steam for 3pm for a pie meal.

Pie, served with mash, minty mushy peas and red wine and onion gravy
Moo - British beef steak & craft ale
Moo & blue - British beef steak & stilton
Free ranger - Free range British chicken, ham, leek & thyme
Funghi Chicken - Chicken and mushroom
Heidi - Sweet potato, spinach and goat’s cheese (V)
Mooless moo - Jackfruit ‘steak’, craft ale & black pepper (VE)
Kevin - Chestnut mushroom, tomato, quinoa, baby onion & red wine (VE)
We will meet outside the front entrance to Huddersfield train station at 11:00 to catch the 11:09 train replacement bus to Marsden. Please arrive in plenty of time to buy your ticket if you have not bought one in advance.
If you miss this service the next one isn't until 12:09 and then you'd only get 15 minutes at the pub in Marsden or you could get off at Slaithwaite and wait for us at the bus stop.
If you wish to explore the Marsden Jazz Festival before meeting us then you could head to Marsden earlier and meet us in The Riverhead Brewery Tap in Marsden from 11:40.
Huddersfield train station is located on St George's Square. The bus station is also located here.
