Overview

Join us for a light spectacular by acclaimed animation team: Illuminos.

Enjoy a spectacular light show around the Close, and on the front of the Cathedral, listen to popular carols, and head inside to soak up the atmosphere of this special time of year.

Our ticket includes after-hours access to the Christmas Tree Festival, Gift Shop and Crib.

The Christmas Light Show is a spectacular illumination event around the Close, and on the west front of the Cathedral. Visitors can enjoy popular carols, and head inside to soak up the atmosphere of this special time of year and view the Christmas Tree Festival, after-hours

Although we have a timed entry ticket (chosen to reduce queuing time on entry) we are encouraged to take our time and enjoy the experience at our own pace.

Getting There

We will meet near Cathedral Close and go in together.

There is strictly no parking on site, you will need to park elsewhere in the city. Details regarding all of the city’s car parks can be found at the following link:

Before You Go

Entry to the Close will be strictly for ticket holders only.
Entry will be via Dam Street ONLY; this is to allow a one-way system around the Close.
Please arrive in plenty of time (around 20 minutes ahead of your ticket time) – the illuminations will begin at your ticketed time.
There is strictly no parking in The Close.
Early entry to the experience will not be permitted, but every effort will be made to allow access if you are running late. Please do not panic.
Refreshments will be available, including hot drinks and festive bites from 17:00-22:00 each evening.
We anticipate the experience taking around an hour, but once inside the Cathedral the experience can be enjoyed at your own pace.
Once you have left the Cathedral there will be no readmission.
There are no toilets inside the Cathedral. Toilets are near the pedestrian entrance to the Close via Dam Street.
This exhibition includes loud sounds, music and moving and flashing images throughout the experience, as well as bright lights and areas of darkness within the cathedral.

The shop will be open, selling a great selection of Festive gifts, cards, and decorations.
