Overview

This tour is different. We get under the 'skin' of the city. Our guide Jonathan will help us to understand how the Jewellery Quarter developed from a country estate to a centre of amazing invention and industrialisation. We will see how this place adds to today's city. We will look at issues being tackled in today's city.

Take the 'secret canal' to the Jewellery Quarter and understand industries from artisan jewellers to giant enterprises who dominated the world.

See where the city is heading into the future.

Our tour is conducted by Jonathan Berg, whose book Birmingham's Public Art was published on 1st November 2023..... Jonathan believes a walking tour should be fun, educational, memorable and inclusive – so expect to be entertained. We had great feedback from the last walks that he did for us.

Start and Finish : Library of Birmingham entrance, Centenary Square, B1 2ND
