Otter Experience at the Exotic Zoo!
Overview
Today we have a unique opportunity to meet and greet the zoos Asian Short-Clawed Otters. We will be joining their keeper in the otters enclosure to find out lots of facts about these fantastic semi-aquatic mammals.
We'll get to learn all about their cheeky personalities as well as feed them their favourite fishy foods.
This is a real treat not to miss, and a great opportunity to get some unusual photos!
We also have full access to the zoo so we're free to wander around at our leisure before or afterwards.
The Jungle Café: The zoo has recently opened their brand new café and as a special offer for Spice, we can enjoy a free hot drink here during our visit. If you're staying for lunch, feel free to dine in the café or bring a picnic to enjoy in the grounds if you wish.
Optional add on: If you’d like to extend your experience today, it’s possible to also Meet the Armadillos at 1pm in their enclosure. (Anyone who is booking both experiences can add the Armadillo's on for just £20 (rather than the individual price of £28.50), which also includes a 2nd free hot drink. Please contact the office to claim this discount).

Please note: If you have a seafood allergy of any kind you are unable to participate in the experience.
Most of the enclosures are sadly not suitable for wheelchairs, with steps up into the enclosures and tight spaces to get in.
We can meet from 11.30am in the café to enjoy our free hot drink and link up with those who have booked to Meet the Armadillos. Our Otter Experience begins at either 12pm or 2pm so we will have free time around the Zoo before and/or afterwards.

Feedback from other animal experiences at Exotic Zoo
● It was really lovely meeting the Armadillos, I would really recommend it. They were so cute and the zoo keeper was very informative and gave us all some food to give them. She told us to make a ring with our forefinger and thumb and the Armadillos put their snout through and flick out their long tongues to eat up the food, which is live mealy worms!
They were amazing!

● What a fabulous evening we had getting to know these fascinating creatures. As well as the adults, they had 2 six week onld babies as well. We also met their wallabies, foxes, Parrot, Owl and lots of other creatures who live there. They opened specially for Spice out
of normal hours and it was really special.

● Just to say I loved the Meet the Meerkat experience. Wasn't sure what to expect at first when we arrived at a garden centre, but it surpassed my expectations. The handlers were very knowledgeable and the meerkats were lovely... The opportunity to have one posing on your shoulder is not to be missed. Then to cuddle the babies and meet the wallabies and other lovely animals topped it all off. Would recommend this to any animal lover!
● I'm a big kid at heart and love all sorts of 'critters' so was really looking forward to this event. It was much better than expected because quite apart from the cute little Meerkats; we all got a chance to mingle with and feed the Wallabies, Rabbits, the Mara etc. That REALLY made my night as there was no fighting through packs of children to get to look through a fence. Instead we were treated to an up close and hands on experience - long live Spice!!
● The Meet the Meerkats was fantastic. We saw a lot more than I expected. The baby meerkats were adorable and to feed the animals was fantastic. The animals were that friendly a chicken took bread out of my hand. My favourite event so far and I have been on
many.
