This has to be the best value break in the Spice calendar. Year after year the feedback is fantastic. This year we return to the excellent Cairndale Hotel and Leisure Club in Dumfries for a weekend of great company in great surroundings. The Cairndale Hotel is a AA 3 Star (pushing for 4 star) hotel situated in the market town of Dumfries and offers exceptional accommodation and facilities for the perfect Spice weekend. Dumfries is the centre of the present day Dumfries and Galloway region and it has Neolithic and Roman origins. Lying close to the English border; the history of Dumfriesshire was often bloody and turbulent. King William the Lion made Dumfries a Royal Burgh in 1186. The "Queen of the South" as it is known, is initially viewed by the visitor as a mix of the striking traditional red sandstone and pastel coloured painted houses. The River Nith flows through Dumfries on its way to the Solway Firth. In earlier centuries the town was a trading port for many parts of the world. Dumfries was home to Scotland's National Bard; Robert Burns, J.M. Barrie of ‘Peter Pan' fame, and was the site of the murder of ‘The Red' Comyn by Robert The Bruce. Castles, Neolithic cairns and stone circles and beautiful countryside abound in this area.William Wallace, Robert The Bruce, Bonnie Prince Charlie, and Robert Burns all left their mark in the History of Dumfries.

Location & Itinerary
This excellent weekend is jam packed with activities to suit everyone. On Friday evening we will enjoy a Rotating dinner (we move to new tables between courses on as a pre planned mix up of members) in the ballroom and afterwards we will enjoy a private disco. Saturday evening sees us enjoy a lovely dinner followed by live tribute act. Daytime offers include led walks suitable for most on Saturday and Sunday or you If you don’t fancy either walk there is the option of joining Mark Biagioni for a chance to explore the local area. All this and the superb upgraded health and spa available to boom over the weekend.
Travel & Stay
The Cairndale offers a mix of single, twin, and double rooms, free car parking, free Wi-Fi wireless internet access, and excellent leisure facilities. Awarded an AA rosette for fine dining, the hotel offers one of the top dining experiences in the area. Within the hotel is the Barracuda Club Health Spa available for use throughout the weekend, all beauty treatments can be booked in advance). In the spring of 2024 the hotel will open it's brand new revamped pool and spa. This exciting addition will offer spa bookings for members.
At just over 1 ½ hrs from Glasgow and under 2 hrs from Edinburgh this weekend is easily accessible to all. For those from further afield Dumfries is just over the border and has a train station close to the venue.
