Sunday Morning Short Walk: Cuerden Valley
Overview
Join us for one of Anne's short morning walks around the countryside to the north of Manchester
Todays walk will be 3 to 4 miles which is approximately 90 minutes of walking, on mostly good paths though there may be muddy patches in the woodland. There is one short stretch of steep-ish uphill path.
Cuerden Valley Park has amazing meadows, woodland, lakes, wildlife, ponds and the attractive River Lostock running through the middle.
Meet in Lord Nelson front car park at 10.50am ready for an 11am start. There are no toilets at the start (as the pub doesn't open until noon) and none en route, customer toilets in the pub at the end of the walk.
You can join us after the walk (we should be back at 12.45pm) for an optional Sunday Roast (or Pizza) in the Lord Nelson Pub. It is around £14 each. The Lord Nelson has been on this site since the 16th Century and has a cosy country-pub atmosphere.

Location & Itinerary
Grade 5: 3 to 4 miles, around 90 minutes walking - please refer to the walk grading information within the website FAQs HERE which also gives you a list of recommended items to bring with you.
From the A6 Preston Road, you can only turn into Radburn Brow if you are coming from the North (Preston direction), so if you are coming from Chorley (M61 J8) you would need to go past it on your right then turn round at the next mini-roundabout at the big Lidl store.
