The Sandringham Hotel is a well-established family run 2* Hotel with good service and friendly atmosphere. It is situated in the heart of the City of Cardiff and only a few minutes walk from the many Shopping Malls and Arcades, of which the City is justly proud; and, just a 'long pass' from the famous Principality Stadium. The Sandringham Hotel offers all that the discerning traveller requires and more.

The Sandringham Hotel was built in the 1880’s. Previously known as the Black Lion, it is a landmark in Cardiff’s St Mary Street. The famous stone lion on top of the building is a great reminder of that era.

The Dutton Family has owned the Hotel since 1989. Mr. Eric Dutton MBE, a well known figure in the capital, served as president of Cardiff Chamber of Trade and was a former chairman of Cardiff Initiative. He was also the first-ever patron of the Cardiff Hoteliers’ Association. In 2003, Mr. Dutton was awarded an MBE for over fifty years of loyal voluntary service to the community in Cardiff. He has now sadly passed away but the hotel remains operated by his sons Simon and Michael and his daughter in law Alison.

Here at Spice your health, safety and wellbeing are of paramount importance. Whether travelling on holiday or attending Spice weekends away, in the UK or overseas - it is always advisable to have adequate travel insurance in case of emergency, cancellation, etc.

Travel insurance is an important aspect to booking a weekend or holiday, giving you protection against unforeseen circumstances that could otherwise spoil your trip. We also strongly encourage the need for a personal travel insurance policy that includes Covid 19 cover.

While we cannot recommend specific insurance policies as everyone’s requirements are personal to them, Spice have linked up with market leader Staysure Travel Insurance which you may like to take a look at.
